Rutgers Camden and SBDC Kicks Off It’s Signature Minority Entrepreneurship Program with the City of Salem

April 25 2023: Professional and Executive Education at Rutgers (PEER) in partnership with the New Jersey Small Business Development Center at Rutgers Camden (NJ SBDC), has launched a “Small Business Training and Certification Program” to a cohort of black entrepreneurs in Salem, NJ.

The cohort, funded by a grant that the City of Salem received from the USDA to encourage minority entrepreneurship in rural areas, combines the strength of the short-term requirements of starting a business that the NJSBDC State Office provides with the long-term tools on leadership, positioning, and sustainability that Rutgers School of Business–Camden provides.

The three-month hybrid program culminates with a project that consists of an initial business plan and a “elevator pitch” that these entrepreneurs can employ to secure financing, establish strategic partnerships, and hire a workforce that will support their success!
