The Rutgers Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Training & Certification program is designed for practical application of the concepts, tools and strategies learned and includes implementation of a real-world process improvement project, with the coaching of a Rutgers Black/Master Black Belt throughout.

Our program is designed for rapid deployment of your newly-acquired skills, so you can deliver sustainable results and a significant return on investment in your career development training. If you are already managing projects, practicing the Agile methodology, you will find that the strategic and tactical skills you will learn in this program will perfectly complement your approach to solving business challenges.

Team up with Rutgers Professional and Executive Education – Training Green Belts and Black Belts since 2003 –  and acquire the skills you need to be a successful and effective Green Belt.

What You’ll Do

  • Participate interactively in real-time, virtual class sessions with your Rutgers Instructor and classmates
  • Practice the tools and strategies you’re learning in breakout sessions with your team, and individually with meaningful homework assignments, using real-world process challenges
  • Once training is underway, select a process problem at work and turn it into a LSS project that you’ll execute along with a small team of co-workers.
  • A Rutgers Black Belt/Master Black Belt will work with you one-on-one as your coach and mentor throughout your project.
  • Project commences with the submission and approval of a project charter and should be started in tandem with your coursework (it can can be started upon completion of training with prior approval). Work must commence within 3 months, and be completed within 6 months after commencement.

The Opportunity

According to payscale.com, the average US base salary for a certified Green Belt is $87K. This program is designed to provide hands-on, practical learning that you will then apply, with expert assistance from Rutgers, on a real-life project at your place of work – the objective is to provide you and your employer with a quick return on investment of money and time.

This Option (Option A) is cohort-based and takes place in 8 sessions of 3.5 hours in an online or in an on-site classroom. It is recommended you scope your project for completion within a 4 to 6-month time frame of course completion.
