Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification

Next Date: Most certification candidates begin their projects within a few weeks of completion of Green Belt training. Typical projects run from several weeks to six months, depending on the nature of the project and others business factors.

You next logical step after Green Belt training (either our classroom-based Green Belt Training (or online Professional Certificate). Now that you have learned the concepts, tools and techniques of Lean Six Sigma, it is time to put what you’ve learned into practice. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification will give you the opportunity to demonstrate your understanding and application of Lean Six Sigma by facilitating a real life process improvement project or Kaizen within your organization.

One-on-One Mentoring
From beginning to end of your certification journey, enjoy the support of a Rutgers Black Belt/Master Black Belt.  This Mentor will enrich your experience and provide the guidance and confidence you need to implement and conclude a successful Green Belt project.

To become a Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt professional, candidates must:

 

  1. Complete either Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Training or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Professional Certificate (Online)
  2. Execute an Agreement with the candidate’s supervisor or project sponsor.
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of the Lean Six Sigma methodology and tools by passing the Green Belt Certification exam (based on the Rutgers/Lockheed Martin Green Belt training).
  4. Apply Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology via the timely and successful completion of one project with measureable outcomes.
  5. Submit to the Rutgers Certification Board the candidate’s Lean Six Sigma Notebook
  6. Present a 30 minute overview of the project to the Rutgers Lean Six Sigma Certification Review Board and supervision.

*The Candidate must submit the project Notebook to the Rutgers Lean Six Sigma Certification Review Board no later than 8 months after beginning the Rutgers’ Green Belt certification process.

The Green Belt Certification program is geared specifically towards alumni of Rutgers Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training program.

Each Green Belt Certification candidate will be assigned an industry-experienced Master Black Belt Mentor from the Rutgers University Lean Six Sigma Certification Board. This one-on-one relationship with your Black Belt Mentor during your Certification journey will enrich your experience and provide the guidance and confidence you need to implement a successful project and to present your findings to the Rutgers Certification Board at the projects conclusion. Each Master Black Belt Mentor on the Rutgers University Lean Six Sigma Certification Board is formally trained in the practice and application of lean six sigma methodologies and applications. Each possess’ over 25 years of Fortune 500 industry experience and have led multi-million dollar organization-wide process improvement projects.
